Frequently asked questions

Your hoarding cleanup questions, answered

If your question isn't covered here, just call us free on 0800 494 7220 — we're always happy to talk things through.

How much does hoarding cleanup cost?

Costs vary depending on the size of the property, the level of hoarding and the type of work involved. We provide a free, no-obligation written quote after a quick assessment. We also reduce costs wherever possible by donating to charity, recycling and buying back items of higher value. For a full guide, see our hoarding cleanup cost page.

How long does a hoarding cleanup take?

Anything from a single day for one room to a week or more for an extreme, whole-house clearance. Once we've assessed the property we'll give you a realistic timescale. We always work at a pace that feels comfortable for you. See how long cleanup takes.

Is the service confidential?

Absolutely. Discretion is at the heart of what we do. Everything is kept strictly confidential, we never share details or photographs without consent, and unmarked vehicles are available on request.

Do I need to be present during the work?

Not necessarily. Many clients prefer to be there to make decisions; others find it easier to step away. If you live far away or simply can't face it, we can manage the whole process for you and keep you updated throughout.

Will you throw everything away?

No. Nothing is discarded without your agreement. We carefully sort belongings, set aside valuables, documents and keepsakes, donate usable goods to charity and recycle responsibly.

Do you handle biohazard or unsanitary properties?

Yes. Our trained team safely cleans and sanitises unsanitary homes, including those affected by waste build-up, pests, mould and odours. See our biohazard & sanitisation service.

Can you work with social workers or the council?

Yes. We regularly liaise with social workers, occupational therapists, housing associations and local authorities to coordinate the best outcome for everyone involved.

Which areas do you cover?

We cover the whole of County Durham, from Durham City and Chester-le-Street to the Dales villages of Weardale and Teesdale. See our areas we cover.
